Not only must we deal with Covid causing havoc with the travel industry (among many others0, the closing of borders, and cancellations of cruises, we also must be prepared for the October 1, 2021 deadline for REAL ID.

If you’ve been reading our newsletter for a while, you know that October 2020 deadline was extended until 2021. All airport travelers 18 and older must make sure that they have a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or other compliant ID– to fly within the United States. Travelers will not be allowed to board domestic flights without REAL ID-compliant identification.

You can also use a passport card, approximately the size of a driver’s license, to meet the requirements of the REAL ID Act. Although the passport card cannot be used for international air travel, it is a perfect alternative for frequent travelers who do not want to carry their regular passport book for domestic travel.

Other types of ID will be accepted for travel.  Check out this site for more information.  Contact us with questions.

Don’t get left behind or at the gate; get your REAL ID now.
