New Caribbean Hotels

As we mentioned in last month’s issue, there are many new or renovated hotels opening in the Caribbean and Mexico this year. These hotels give you more diverse accommodation choices. Here are just a few.

Turks And Caicos: In November, Beach Enclave, a new collection of luxury villas on Provodenciales, unveiled the first of its three developments. Beach Enclave North Shore comprises nine private villas, set on 10 beachfront acres, that offer the services and amenities of a luxury resort. Conceived for sophisticated, barefoot beach living, these ocean-view and beachfront villas each provide guests with more than 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space. The four- and five-bedroom villas additionally include infinity-edge pools, a built-in outdoor barbecue area, multiple terraces and a secluded beach area. On the beach, guests can enjoy the use of kayaks and snorkel equipment to explore the nearby coral reef.

Bonaire : Courtyard By Marriott Bonaire is the first-ever U.S.-branded hotel on the island just five minutes from downtown Kralendijk. Amenities at the two-story, 136-room / four-suite resort include a modern fitness center, infinity pool, and BLT Grille, an American steakhouse. An onsite dive center is scheduled to open in early this year to take advantage of the fabulous diving on Bonaire.

Saint Lucia:   This lush verdant Caribbean island will see more than 1,000 new rooms added in the next few years. The first is the Royalton Saint Lucia which is located on a private cove in Cap Estate. This complex is comprised of three distinct sections, including the Resort section, a family-friendly enclave complete with splash pads and waterslides, supervised kids’ and teens’ clubs and dining menus designed for children; the Diamond Club, featuring luxury Swim-Out and Ocean View suites; and the adults-only Hideaway at the Royalton Saint Lucia, a luxury resort within a resort boasting private infinity pools and an exclusive seafood grill. Additional highlights include nine signature Royalton restaurants and two all-inclusive food trucks.

Couples in search of a more exclusive hideaway will find their match in Serenity at Coconut Bay, Saint Lucia’s new adults-only, luxury all-suite resort opening this spring, Located minutes from the airport, Serenity at Coconut Bay offers 36 Plunge Pool Suites with spacious indoor and outdoor living areas, mahogany king beds, fine dining, craft cocktails, butler service, 24-hour room service and personalized top-shelf bar.

Another option for couples and families is The Harbor Club scheduled to open in September 2017. Situated in Rodney Bay next to the marina, the Harbor Club will feature 115 guestrooms and a variety of amenities, including two restaurants, a bakery, lounges, a full-service spa, a gym and a pool.

New Construction Sandals has announced plans for its fourth resort on Saint Lucia, Sandals LaSource Saint Lucia, which is set to break ground this spring. The new hotel is nestled on 19 acres of land next to the existing Sandals Grande Saint Lucian Resort and will offer guests an infinity-edge sky pool bar overlooking the island’s north coast, 350-guestrooms and suites including SkyPool Butler Suites and all-butler signature swim-up Rondoval Suites—a first in the chain.
